PARIS – Pengguna-pengguna telefon bimbit berisiko menghidap kanser otak dan mereka dinasihatkan menggunakan khidmat pesanan ringkas (SMS) dan alat pendengaran telefon, kata beberapa pakar barah Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO).
Menurut WHO, penggunaan SMS dan alat pendengaran telefon itu akan mengurangkan si pengguna terdedah pada gelombang telefon bimbit.
Medan frekuensi elektromagnetik radio yang dibebaskan telefon bimbit berisiko menyebabkan kanser pada manusia,” kata kenyataan Agensi Antarabangsa untuk Penyelidikan Kanser (IARC) selepas persidangan lapan hari diadakan di Lyon Perancis kelmarin.
Pakar-pakar membuat rumusan itu berdasarkan penelitian ke atas kajian melibatkan manusia dan kajian epidemiologi yang menunjukkan peningkatan berlakunya glioma iaitu sejenis kanser otak,” kata Presiden IARC, Jonathan Samet.
Dua kajian utama menunjukkan mereka yang paling kerap menggunakan telefon bimbit lebih berisiko dijangkiti kanser otak, katanya dalam satu sidang akhbar melalui telefon.
Beberapa individu berisiko tinggi yang dipantau dalam kajian-kajian tersebut telah menggunakan telefon bimbit mereka pada kadar purata 30 minit sehari selama 10 tahun.
“Kami tidak dapat meramalkan apa yang akan berlaku sekiranya orang ramai menggunakan telefon bimbit untuk tempoh masa yang lebih lama dan sepanjang hayat mereka,” kata Samet.
Terdapat sekitar lima bilion telefon bimbit berdaftar di dunia dan jumlah itu serta masa penggunaannya semakin meningkat sejak beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini.
Jelas IARC, bukti saintifik menunjukkan telefon bimbit berpotensi menyebabkan kanser tetapi ia masih perlu dibuktikan. – AFP

Puting beliung ragut 500 nyawa dalam tempoh sebulan adalah yang paling ganas sejak 1950-an
DALAM tempoh sebulan ini, Amerika Syarikat, teruk diganyang alam apabila satu demi satu kejadian ribut yang membawa bersama puting beliung, meragut lebih 500 rakyatnya, setakat ini.
Sejak April lalu, puting beliung yang melanda selatan negara itu termasuk Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Arkansas, Virginia, Kentucky dan Louisiana, mengorbankan kira-kira 500 penduduk dengan kerugian dianggarkan bernilai RM18 bilion.
Puting beliung merujuk angin kencang ribut petir yang berputar secara ganas dari udara dan mencecah daratan. Ia terbentuk apabila angin panas, lembap bertembung dengan udara sejuk dan kering.
Namun, amukan puting beliung terbaru di Joplin, Missouri, sudah pun menyebabkan 125 maut dan setakat ini jumlah kerugian mencecah RM9 bilion. Malah, bencana kali ini adalah paling bahaya pernah direkodkan sejak tahun 1950-an dan terburuk sejak 1974.
Ia sekadar satu lagi musim penuh derita yang dilalui penduduk Amerika ketika kerajaannya turut terbabit dalam pelbagai operasi ketenteraan di Libya, Pakistan dan Afghanistan atas nama memerangi keganasan.
Malah, puting beliung di Joplin dilaporkan adalah fenomena pemusnah yang jarang berlaku dikenali sebagai ‘kepelbagaian putaran,’ mengandungi dua atau lebih taufan dengan bukaan angin lebih luas.
Kebanyakan bahagian selatan Missouri yang dihuni 50,000 penduduk rosak teruk dengan gereja, sekolah, kawasan perniagaan dan rumah diranapkan angin dengan kelajuan sehingga 316 kilometer sejam!

Budak 10 tahun jadi mekanik
WANG JUNJIE memeriksa sebuah tayar dengan menggunakan mesin di bengkel bapa saudaranya di bandar Bijie, China.
BEIJING - Seorang budak berumur 10 tahun, Wang Junjie bekerja sebagai mekanik selepas dia disingkirkan keluar dari sebuah sekolah di bandar Bijie, barat daya China kerana prestasi akademiknya yang lemah.
Dia bekerja di sebuah bengkel membaiki kenderaan milik bapa saudaranya tanpa mendapat upah.
Menurut Junjie, pada tahun lalu, permohonannya belajar di sekolah ditolak oleh pihak pendaftar kerana guru-guru menyatakan rekod akademiknya tidak begitu baik.
"Walaupun prestasi akademik saya tidak begitu baik, saya merupakan seorang budak yang baik dan berprinsip.
"Saya tidak pernah bergaduh dan saya seorang yang pendiam di dalam kelas. Saya tidak mengetahui kenapa guru-guru tidak menyukai saya," katanya.
Menurutnya, guru-guru meletakan tempat duduknya di barisan paling akhir. "Saya terlalu pendek untuk melihat papan hitam kerana pelajar di depan saya lebih tinggi daripada saya," katanya. - Agensi
Suatu hari, ayah dari keluarga yang sangat sejahtera membawa anaknya melawat ke sebuah negara yang sebahagian besar penduduknya hidup dari hasil pertanian, dengan niat untuk menunjukkan bagaimana kehidupan orang-orang yang miskin kepada anaknya.
Mereka menghabiskan waktu seharian di sebuah tanah pertanian milik keluarga yang kelihatan sangat miskin. Apabila pulang dari perjalanan tersebut, sang ayah bertanya kepada
anaknya.
"Bagaimana perjalanan tadi?"
"Sungguh luar biasa, Pa."
"Kamu lihatkan bagaimana kehidupan mereka yang miskin?"
tanya sang ayah.
"Iya, Pa" jawabnya.
Bayi tiruan!Ingatkan telur je tiruan,bayi pun ada tiruan jugak.Hebat betul manusia zaman sekarang,semua benda boleh dicipta dan dibuat.
Perekanya bernama Nikki Hunn.Anak patung bayi ni direka untuk menghiburkan hati ibu yang kehilangan bayi mereka.
Serba sedikit info pasal anak patung bayi ni:-

2. Kelembutan plastik hampir sama dengan kulit bayi
3. Jari-jemari dilengkapi kuku
4. Memiliki rambut tipis seperti bayi
5. Boleh mengeluarkan air liur
Pembeli harus memesannya terlebih dulu dan boleh membawa foto bayi yang mereka inginkan. Harganya cukup mahal, iaitu 300 US dollar atau lebih RM 800. Ada juga wanita yang memesan anak patung itu kerana ingin memiliki anak tetapi tidak mempunyai waktu untuk menjaganya. Alasan mereka, anak patung ini tidak bertambah besar sehingga tidak perlu sering membeli baju.
Anak patung ini amat serupa dengan bayi sebenar, sehingga ramai orang menyangkanya ialah bayi sebenar.
